Immram earring

£70.00

Immram is a form of Celtic verse best described as a sea-journey to another world, akin to the Australian Aboriginal walkabout - either a pragmatic journey or a mystical spirit-voyage. A fitting name for a wearable artefact!

Foraging for seaglass, fossils and pottery fragments has become my personal form of a walkabout - each fragment can only be found while walking for hours on the foreshore (in itself a magical liminal space one can walk only on low tide created by the force of the moon, but otherwise inaccessible). Each fragment incorporated into jewellery tells a story that no longer follows a linear timeline but rather an ebb and flow of time.
